Let me first say I am a complete beginner, so don%26#039;t laugh!
I%26#039;ve used blogger before but buying a domain name and hosting is all new to me.
I purchased a basic package via 1%26amp;1.co.uk - it comes with it%26#039;s own website builder which has preset templates.
The big question is - how and where do I access the html side? Can I do this on a basic package or am I stuck with their templates? I%26#039;ve looked but had no luck.
If I%26#039;m limited to their designs I%26#039;m better off going back to blogger surely? At least there I have control over the html and can change the layouts.

Hi,
I also use to use 1%26amp;1.co.uk, as you say they do have a few preset templates that are ready made, though if you start off using their own templates, you have to stick with them.
My best answer to you would be to use a program such as DreamweaverMX, or the newer version Dreamweaver 8.
That is all you would need to be able to construct your own pages, the way you want them to look.
Dreamweaver comes with its own ftp uploading facility, so using this program you will be making your own HTML pages.

Other Replys:i presume they provided you with ftp details, if so then create your page in html using your favourite program (dreamweaver etc) then upload via ftp with the provided details.
search download.com for ftp programs theres plenty.
your main page should be named index.html
