Need recommendations for forum software?

I%26#039;m trying to decide on what forum software would suit my needs. You see, I want to make an interactive forum, with shops and the like. I want it to be hosted on my domain + server (don%26#039;t worry about the bandwidth.) I%26#039;m trying to choose between these forums:

XMB

phpBB

or SimpleMachienes (SMF)

Help?

Need recommendations for forum software?

I use phpBB--real simple to use. I think you can change it%26#039;s domain, or you can put it in a frame on your site to eliminate a .phbb header.

I recommend PHPBB. Or if you have ASP, check out Snitz Forum: http://forum.snitz.com/

Other Replys:I see vBulletin almost everywhere. Check that one out too.

Other Replys:Definitely PHPBB is the best because it is easy to configure and very stable. I have used smf too but it is not easier to configure and specially banning spammers is pretty tough.

If you can spend a little money, vBulletin ROCKS!

Another Option is IP.Board

http://www.invisionboard.com/

These two companies can design EXACTLY what you want. If you have a site, they can look at your site and design a board which will look a part of your website. They can also incorporate special features like Ads By Google and other advertisements of your choice.

Good Luck!

Other Replys:In terms of community support and extensibilty (mods and hacks), there simply is no better forum than phpBB.

I share the previous sentiment that vBulletin is a superior product to phpBB, but since you insist on free, phpBB makes the most sense.
